PCB Design Engineer

Details: Description: This role is for a PCB Designer / Engineer (Digital and Analog Circuitry) responsible for work in the development of new customer specific custom products. In the execution of this assignment this person will be responsible for layout and schematics of electrical designs. Mechanical Chassis and PCB Layout Designer

Details: Rincon Research Corporation (RRC) is looking for a creative individual with two powerful skill-sets: printed circuit board (PCB) layout experience and mechanical design experience to implement new electronic systems. RRC creates cutting-edge digital signal processing (DSP) systems and software-defined radios from the ground up. These systems usually contain complex PCBs with high component densities and are often packaged into very compact cases and chassis. These high-density designs require creative solutions for PCB part placement, high-density routing, thermal management and ruggedization. A designer with mastery of these two skill-sets will be instrumental in the development of our new products. The designer will be an integral part of a team that includes hardware engineers, software engineers, technicians, and marketing staff. The designer will also directly interface with customers to describe how their goals and requirements can be implemented. Typical PCB layout assignments will include: working with an engineer to place components for a dense PCB with many ball-grid-array parts, implementing layout rules to ensure matched trace lengths across a bus composed of differential pairs, routing high-density PCBs, reviewing schematic symbols, maintaining an IPC/JEDEC compliant footprint library, working with PCB fabrication vendors to develop manufacturable blind-via stackups with controlled impedances over a variety of transmission line geometries, and working to resolve fabrication issues during the quote or testing phase.
