CONVERSION CHARTS FOR METRIC AND ENGLISH (US) UNITS
LENGTH, WEIGHT, AREA AND VOLUME
|
|
There is a number of
different systems of measurement in practical use. Most of the world
has adapted a decimal system called metric. Its main advantage is all
multiples and submultiples of the base units are related to the base
unit by factors of powers of ten. Currently International System of
Units (SI) which is based on meter, kilogram
and second is recognized as the standard metric
system. In US the imperial and customary units are still utilized in
trade and household
use.
Here you will find metric conversion tables for some of the common
quantities.
